2026 Annual Report: A Year of Continuity, Growth, and Strong Partnerships

2025 was a year of steady leadership and thoughtful transition for the Somerset County Soil & Water Conservation District. Under the guidance of outgoing Executive Director Jennifer Hebert and the arrival of Heather Holland, the District maintained strong program delivery while positioning itself for continued growth.

From expanding the Ag Allies program to supporting nearly 3,000 acres of grassland bird habitat and an estimated 2,500 Bobolink fledglings, to hosting well-attended workshops and strengthening partnerships with NRCS, Maine Forest Service, land trusts, and others, the District remained active across Somerset County.

With a solid financial foundation and an engaged board and staff, the District enters 2026 ready to build on this momentum and continue serving farmers, landowners, and communities throughout the county.
